3812 N. Borthwick (The Fred)

The kitchen is a roomy 14' by 10' and enjoys lots of sunlight with its southern exposure. The appliances were new in late 2002... a gas range and side by side refrigerator(ice and filtered water dispenser in the door). The original built-in sideboard and pantry cabinets are one of my favorite features of the whole apartment. The sideboard even has the original tip-out grain bins, perfect for recycling or pet food. The old pantry cabinets are floor to ceiling and a full 2' deep (did they have Costco in 1911?). The countertops are a (questionably executed) tile mosaic and I swear my parents' 1970's tract-home had that exact same yellow double-bowl sink (although theirs didn't have a pull-out sprayer faucet). There's just enough room under the window for a small table and chairs.
