Restaurants: There are too many to mention, but here are a few highlights: On Hawthorne there is Bridgeport Brewing, Vincente Pizza, Toji, India Oven, Castagna, Three Doors Down, Fujin, Chez Machin. On Belmont there is Wild Abandon, Cricket cafe, Utopia. Also look for Genoa, Bombay Cricket Club, Hot Lips Pizza, Thanh Thao, and the Empire Room.
Coffee: Stumptown is on Belmont, Mojo's is over on Stark, Coffee People is on Hawthorne. There are a bunch of others, so you'll be covered.
Movies: The Bagdad Theatre shows 3 dollar movies and you can order pizza and beer. Further down Hawthorne is Cinemagic with first run artier movies. Movie Madness on Belmont has has a great selection cult, hard to find and offbeat rentals.
